14 AUGUST 2009

PROUDLY SPONSORED BY REGIONAL VALUERS

"How will new Power Generation Technologies affect Rural Values"

Regional Valuers is proud to sponsor the API - 2009 Rural Trip.  This year's technology theme commences with a visit to the Australian National University (ANU), Canberra to see and learn about the Solar Thermal Power Generation Technology developed at the ANU and being commercialised by Wizard Power.

A visit to the Osborne Families' "Currandooley" & "Ellenden" properties at Bungendore will feature the Wind Turbine "Farm" being built there by Infigen Energy - due for commissioning in August.  Harry and Luke Osborne will talk about the effect on their families, properties and values, together with their views on this type of land use.

2008 CAREERS EXPO

The 2008 Careers Expo was held at the AIS arena on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th August consisting of several hundred stalls which offered high school students a great insight into numerous potential careers. The Australian Property Institute (API) had a stand next door to the Australian Police Force, and featured pamphlets outlining the relevant university degrees relating to property, the role of the API and pamphlets on ‘What is a Valuer?’

The stand was attended by various professionals in the industry who volunteered their time including Kellie Mossop of Regional Valuers from 5.30 – 8pm on Thursday evening. The experience was a great networking opportunity and allowed the Regional Valuers logo to been seen by many students who were very interested in the possibility of future work experience.

The API sent out the following thank you to the volunteers:-

 Dear Colleague

Thank you for your valuable assistance at the 2008 Careers Market.  Your outstanding contribution ensured that the two day event was highly successful and your expertise and knowledge provided great counseling to the students who visited our stall.

 Yours sincerely

 Greg Cummins
